What is corporate venture capital (CVC)?

CVC stands for Corporate Venture Capital. It is an investment vehicle created by an organization to invest in startups alongside stand-alone Venture Capital firms. 

Companies that have prominent CVC practices include Google (GV), Siemens (nexdt47), Shell (Shell Ventures), Amazon (Alexa Fund) and more.
