What are the key concepts in managing finances for a startup?

At the top level, there are just two concepts to know.

  • Revenue: How will you make money?
  • Expenses: How will you spend money (in an effort to generate the above revenue?)

From a day to day management standpoint, however, the #1 job of the CEO is to not run out of money. So considerations like financing will come into play as well.
